Tidy Day and Mural Painting
A Tidy Day and Mural Painting event took place at Baxter Gardens on Saturday 23rd July following Big Lottery Fund grant for local community projects.
The fund is investing in the Horsefair, Broadwaters and Greenhill area so people can make their communities better places to live in.
The twin murals were painted at the Baxter Gardens club on the Saturday to coincide with the beginning of Love Parks Week.
Tim Hollis, club committee member, explained; “The practice wall has been here since the club was founded in 1996 but had started to look tired.
“We had it re-rendered and then thought it would be a good idea to brighten it up with some artwork so we have liaised with local residents through the Friends of Baxter Gardens group in order to give something back to the park. The Big Lottery grant gave us the opportunity to do this.”
Experienced urban stencil artist Dominic “Deed” Dunlea, of Kidderminster who organised the artwork on the town’s subways, painted the wall, along with artist Marc “Melo” Potter.
